There is no such thing as "bug-free game" in world of cRPG ;). But yes, the game is playable and enjoyable. Battle avatars are still a sore in the eyes but the game is fairly stable and more patches are still expected to provide improvements. I'd wait a little while longer to be completely sure.

At current state though it has no major lacking side then the originals (except Demon/Elemental summoning and charlatan healers) but have many plus sides (revamped GUI, revamped and good automap, new NPC models far better then months ago and many fine tunings here and there) The game is expanding and will continue to do so. If you give it a try right now, I cannot tell you that you would not meet with any bugs(minor annoyances such as missing placeholders from texts etc), but I'd say they are not gamebreakers.

Hope this helps.

There are "virtually bug-free" games where the bugs are quite small, barely noticeable or the bugs are masterfully hidden or even turned to features with a bit of polish/additional programming.

I've been honest about the game's state and probably instead that joke-ish sentence I could say "It is relatively bug-free" which probably is a righter statement from the perspective of promoting the game and compared to older versions. But in the end both statements lead to the same conclusion. One is covered with honey, the other is not.

I agree to bugs caused due to different system specificatons, these can not be avoided.
Bugs which are not noticable and cause maybe a system slowdown by 1 % or something like that do not count.

I can agree that every game as unnoticable bugs and problems.
But many games are virtually bug free, and for the general gamer, this is the important part.

If there is a problem nobody notices or encounters, it is no problem.

And I would dare say that many games are virtually bug free. Especially old console games.

Agreed.
But this game in Version 1 had neither of any features or qualities.

While other games on consoles which are released on consoles which do not support updates/patches were shipped with only minor bugs
Because developers knew, that the shipped product had to fulfill quality expectations.

The ability to patch and update on PC and modern consoles is a merit as well as it is a flaw as it allows to work inaccurate.
